Artisan Fairs in Puerto Rico

Artisan fairs are more than places to shop—they're a celebration of Puerto Rico's creativity, history, and cultural identity. Many of the crafts you'll find reflect centuries of Taíno, Spanish, and African influences, with techniques and traditions passed down from one generation to the next. By purchasing directly from local artisans, you're not only taking home an authentic souvenir, but also supporting the preservation of Puerto Rico's artistic heritage and small family businesses.

As you explore an artisan fair, you'll discover a colorful variety of handmade creations, including traditional vejigante masks, hand-carved santos (wooden religious figures), pottery, ceramics, jewelry, paintings, wood carvings, basket weaving, textiles, and delicate mundillo lace. Many artisans demonstrate their craft on-site, giving visitors the opportunity to watch the creative process, learn about the history behind each piece, and meet the people who continue these traditions today.
