Gurabo, Puerto Rico

Gurabo is known as "La Ciudad de las Escaleras" (city of the stairs). Gurabo was founded in 1815 by Luis del Carmen Echevarría.

The city is home the Universidad del Turabo (1972).

Gurabo is located in the central eastern region, north of San Lorenzo; south of Trujillo Alto; east of Caguas; and west of Carolina and Juncos; Its rivers are: Gurabo and Grande de Loíza.
